how to make white wine garlic tortellini

This isn’t a difficult recipe. Don’t worry. We’re not going to ask you to learn to create your own pasta and hand shape your tortellini. For this dish, we just went and bought some already made tortellini.

Shh! Don’t tell on us.

We used Giovanni Rana prosciutto and cheese. You can usually find this particular brand in the cheese aisle. It comes refrigerated! We’ve tried just about everything in this line of pastas and we’re never disappointed.

Let’s get started.

White Wine & Garlic Tortellini

This recipe is so simple and only requires a few ingredients. BONUS: you can drink the left over wine.

Servings 3

Ingredients

  • 1/4
    cup
    butter
  • 1
    tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1
    tbsp
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/3
    cup
    white wine
    dry
  • 1
    package
    tortellini
  • 1
    tsp
    salt
  • 2
    tbsp
    heavy cream
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking your tortellini according to the instructions. Usually, you only have to boil it for a few minutes.

  2. In a medium sized frying pan, add butter, garlic, and parsley. Cook over medium low heat, or until spices become fragrant. Be careful not to burn the butter.

  3. Increase the heat to medium and get the butter nice and hot. Once again, be careful not to burn. Add in the white wine.

  4. Let the white wine reduce and cook down. You don’t want the taste of raw wine in your dish.

  5. Add heavy cream.

  6. Add salt and pepper.

  7. Taste your sauce. If it tastes like there’s too much wine, add a tbsp of butter and a tbsp of heavy cream.

  8. Add a little bit of lemon juice from your lemon. I like to do two wedges – but people like different levels of acidity.

  9. Add your tortellini and reduce to low heat. Coat the tortellini with the sauce well.

  10. Serve and enjoy!
