Cajun Crab Mac And Cheese

Can you tell that we’ve been on a bit of a pasta kick recently? We’ve had a change in diet – for a while, we were eating low carb. These days, we’ve been doing Weight Watchers, and we can have pasta again! Well… sort of. We can have pasta in small portions and in moderation. This cajun crab mac and cheese is really more of a cheat meal – but wow. It’s worth it.

Ever since Urban Accents sent us a bunch of fun spices to play with, we’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with their blends.

Cajun Crab Mac and Cheese

This cajun crab mac and cheese is everything an easy dinner recipe should be. Quick, simple, flavorful – and packed with cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/2
    lb
    elbow mac and cheese
  • 1/2
    lb
    lump crab meat
  • 3
    tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper
    to taste
  • 1/4
    cup
    butter
  • 12
    oz
    cheddar cheese
  • 2 and 1/2
    cups
    whole milk
  • 1
    tbsp
    Urban Accents Cajun Street Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow noodles according to instructions on box.

  2. Begin by melting butter in a sauce pan over medium heat.

  3. Add flour and whisk to make a roux. The color of the mixture should be light brown.

  4. Add milk slowly while consistently stirring.

  5. Once the mixture begins bubbling, slowly add cheese while stirring.

  6. Add cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, and stir.

  7. Preheat oven to 425.

  8. Add elbow noodles to a casserole dish and spread out in an even layer. Add crab meat and stir.

  9. Add cheese sauce and stir.

  10. Top with additional cheddar cheese and bake for 10 minutes.

  11. Serve and enjoy!
