  • gingerbread cookie dough (buy ready-made dough or make your own with this recipe)
  • Christmas cookie cutters
  • toothpick
  • edible color markers or icing tube
  • Christmas string

Here’s How:

1.1 Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Roll out the gingerbread dough, cut out shapes with the cookie cutters, and prick a hole in each cookie with a toothpick.

1.2 If you’re using our gingerbread cookie dough recipe, bake the cookies at 375°F for 6-10 minutes depending on how you like them. Otherwise, follow the baking instructions on the packaging for the ready-made cookie dough. Let the cookies cool completely on a rack and then decorate them with edible color markers. Thread a piece of Christmas string through the hole in each cookie, tie the ends together, and adorn your Christmas presents with your your homemade gift tags.

2.2 Grease the smaller bowl with cooking spray, place it on the still warm candy, and use the parchment paper to carefully fold the peppermint candies up against the edge of the bowl.

2.3 Now place the smaller bowl, together with the candies, in the larger bowl and press it evenly. Remove the glass bowls, fill your peppermint candy bowl with ice cream, and it’s time to party!
